The Lion’s Gate – Caroline Reddy

It’s time to resurrect my light

so that I can rewire a new path

as I rewind these neuron memories

and liberate

the yellow-green speckles

from the bloated fish,

that washed up on the beach years ago.

Even if I enter the Lion’s gate

the amber tapestry painted

across the August beams

still might embrace the salty residue

that trapped me in a loop for years.

The sunflowers

can circle around the smiling sun

as the illusions begin to fade from my heart.

The veil between the dimensions is thin

ever since I began to believe

and I have waited so long

for the mind to awaken

to the way

so that the magician is more than a

mere silhouette in the moonrise.

I close my eyes and bask in the orbs

that appear in the golden hall

allowing myself to chant

the spell-casting secrets from within.

I unleash my shield and reforge my sword

to spark an inner flame

to prepare me for the portal

as Leo and Sirion align with Orion’s belt.
