Mickey’s Blahg

#2: Blahnds have more fun

Things are not so blah at Deep Overstock these days. Blond or not, we’ve been having tons of fun.

In case you missed it, we announced the newest addition to the Deep Overstock Publishing lineup: Light Sleeper, a collection of poems by Coleman Stevenson. Coleman Stevenson is the author of BreakfastThe Accidental Rarefication of Pattern #5609The Dark Exact Tarot Guide, and a book of essays accompanying the card game Metaphysik. And Deep Overstock interviewed her about fairy tales back in Issue 2. Light Sleeper will release later this year, aiming for September, so make sure you follow our social media channels for up-to-date information.

There’s another forthcoming title we have in the works by a long-time Deep Overstock contributor, that I’m not sure we want to spoil quite yet. But when it’s time, you’ll hear all about it.

Thank you to everyone who has ordered copies of Deep Overstock: New Arrivals. We’ve received a buttload of pre-orders so far. If you haven’t pre-ordered yours, you can get it on our shop here. And if you have, we’re waiting just as expectantly as you are. We’ll start shipping them as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we have several other projects being worked on, including connecting with more booksellers and bookstores from around the country (if that’s you, drop us a line!), our tenth issue: Origin of Life (less than a week has gone by and we already have multiple submissions!), and maybe (a big maybe) even a podcast?

Other ideas: A party game where you try to grab books off the highest shelf; a chain of restaurants that delivers personalized flash fiction with your flash fried chicken; a dating service that hooks you up based on the books you’ve read–Wait, that’s been done, several times over.

For now, I guess we’ll focus on what we’re good at. I’m going to work on my origin of life submission and I hope you do too.

– Mickey,
