each day grows longer in accordance with desire
to be closer to you; time bends towards want
as do we all.
the sun traces across your lips and were i
with you, i’d not hesitate to give in
to the urge to lick light from your skin.
when i think of how often the sun gets to
touch your gentle body, i can’t help
the jealousy that reaches through me.
when i feel the sun stretching
across my cheeks, i can’t help but to feel it,
a shared kiss across distance.
when i reach for your hand i am asking
for your heart and with each resounding
touch, i grow closer in devotion.
spanning the length of distance, begging
for closeness— i find something entirely new;
the sound of need stretching from your tongue
to mine, stringing us both together. i can’t help
but gorge myself on desire, this love fashioned into
need; stretched into something that can fit us both within.
