Van Gogh’s Night by Lynette Esposito

Before he loved the stars
He loved the paint, the brush, the canvas
He loved the ear he sacrificed
He probably loved a woman
We cannot go back in time
and see what drove him
But if love is a key to everything,
Why did he love the night?
