Medusa’s Love Story by Lynette Esposito

She stared at me with her marble eyes
and knotted my heart so tight
it turned to splintered stone—
pieces pierced my soul
and turned it as well.
Then—now, I am alone–
unmarked granite
above a grave not yet dug.
